Our chat architecture can support sites with millions (you read
that right) of online chatters. You can rest assured as your site
grows, your software can grow with you.
Plug-in Services
The chat client provides not only powerful chatroom services,
but its plug-in architecture allows you to extend its functionality
with new services. Plug-ins range from in-line chat room games to
business add-ons for event moderation, context-sensitive ads, and
even live auctions.
Integrated Video Webcasting
A webcasting area can be enabled within the chat applet to feed
a live video broadcast right into the chat. Extremely powerful for
hosting a live celebrity event or video classroom. Open architecture
allows you to use ANY streaming technology of your choice - you can
use our video broadcaster, or any of the services from Microsoft,
Real Player, et. al.
Membership Database Integration
Our chat technology can easily integrate into your current
membership database if you have one. With it you can:
- Avoid the additional "nickname" log-in prompt common
to most chat applications. Your members can transparently
be taken into the chat room using your site userid. Multiple logins is disruptive and confusing to the user. It is the sign of poor integration.
Of course, if you wish to use nicknames, you can still do that.
- Link the chat profile within the chat environment to your
public member registry.
Anonymous and Guest support
Users can enter the chat room as "guests". This is
generally useful when you want to provide a "teaser" to
convince a user to join your site (perhaps for a fee).
User Authentication and VIP support
Our optional authentication schemes and access privileges are extremely flexible.
With it you can provide varying levels of access and privilege to users for service level up-sell in a pay-for-play model. For example, a game may allow everyone to play, but only paid VIP members may have privilege to do certain actions within the game.
Key Restricted Rooms
You can restrict access to selected rooms based on whether a
user has been given a certain key.
Advanced Banner Advertising
Our unique banner display area allows you to not only display
standard graphical banner ads, but you could include rotating ads,
java scripts, or even flash ads and video. If it can be displayed in
HTML, it can be displayed to you user.
Context Sensitive In-line Advertising
Context sensitive text-based ads can be displayed to members
while inside the chat room. For example, if users are having a
conversation about 'skiing', a ski-related graphical banner ad is
automatically displayed on the bottom of the screen, and a text
message is displayed within the chat content "Interested in
skiing? Check out www.ski-liberty.com".
Microsoft Active-X technology
Our chat applet is built using Active-x, not Java. Stability
issues with various java kernels as well as the absence of Java
support in the latest release of Windows make this an ideal
technology choice.
Advanced Action List
The action list contains all the user actions such as wave, hug, kiss, etc.
We believe we have the largest list available - we even have a
dice-roller for playing online role-playing games in chat.
"Secret" and generic actions are supported. You can also
add your own actions.
Hot-key Support
Hotkeys are shortcut key combinations to make it easier to type in long repeated text or frequently used commands (such as you might use in a game).
Hot keys will carry-over to other sites running InfiChat.
Avatars
Users can select a chat image to be displayed next to their name
in the chat view-port. Provides a unique means of identity.
Emoticons
Users can insert graphical representations of emotions into
their chat text (smiles, winks, laughs, etc.).
Configurable room sizes and Overflow rooms
When a room fills up, a new room with the same features are the original is
created. Carried-over features may include plug-in games and
services.
New Room Creation
Optionally you can allow users to create their own new rooms.
Embedded Live URLs and web address
Users can click on links in the chat view-port to be taken to
that address.
Multiple Person Private Chat
Our private chat also allows multiple users, rather than only
one-on-one.
Misc
Other features include typical chat services such as:
configurable server welcome message, channel welcome message, font
size, user list as an optional display, private chat, frame color,
user ignore, etc...
